Size Guide

Frame Size Guide: How To Measure Your Eyeglasses

Lens width Lens width

The first number— the lens size — represents the horizontal width of the lenses. Generally, the eye size of most eyeglass frames ranges from 40 mm to 62 mm.

The second number — the bridge size — is the distance between the lenses. In other words, it's the size of the "bridge" of the frame that rests on your nose. In most cases, the bridge size of eyeglass frames ranges from 14 mm to 24 mm.

The third number — the temple length — is the length of the "stems" of the frame, measured from the frame hinge to the back tip of the temple. Temple lengths generally range from 120 mm to 150 mm.

Often a small square (rather than a dash) will separate the eye size and the bridge size on the frame.

About

Persol 714 Steve McQueen™

Persol was born in 1917, at the height of the First World War. An urgent problem was the lack of high-quality and comfortable sunglasses for pilots. Representatives of other extreme professions also needed reliable accessories. Italian photographer Giuseppe Ratti took up the task. This is how the manufacturer Persol appeared, whose name can be translated from Italian as "against the sun." The first models did not have temples, instead of which there were elastic bands. For the time it was elegant and very comfortable. But Giuseppe Ratti was active and insightful. He did not want to stop there, realizing that soon his find would be reproduced and improved by competitors.

In 1920, Pursol again surprised the world with yellow-brown quartz lenses. Señor Ratti creates special models for welders, climbers, hikers and skydivers. But the real fame for this Italian label came from Hollywood. Steve McQueen is one of the many movie stars who prefer Persol. In honor of him and for him, the famous eccentric model 714 was released. They say that the appearance of this accessory on the set of The Thomas Crown Affair was not quite usual, since even in those distant times, brands bought out the right to show their things and accessories for a lot of money. However, when the producers saw the Persol 714 on Steve McQueen's nose, they couldn't hide their admiration.

The Persol 714 Steve McQueen Eyewear Collection was created in honor of the famous actor, who in the sixties was an icon of good style and male beauty. One generation is replaced by another, but real beauty remains, because the real is synonymous with eternal. This exclusive series is intended for real connoisseurs of good style and impeccable quality.

Persol - 714 Steve McQueen™ Collection

The collection is dedicated to one model – Persol 714. Actor Steve McQueen made it famous in the film The Thomas Crown Affair by Norman Jewison. Persol 714 is a marvel of modern mechanics. Not only the arms are folded in it to the rim (as it should in all glasses), and each one has an additional hinge in the middle and also folds. This model has a folding bridge, so when folded the lenses touch each other like mother-of-pearl shells. This is the accessory used by Steve McQueen in The Thomas Crown Affair. However, the well-regarded actor wears Persol sunglasses not only on stage.

Persol 714 Steve McQueen™

This collection continues the tradition of fine craftsmanship for which the Italians have been renowned for centuries. Persol offers the perfect blend of classics and bold innovations for maximum wearing comfort. Persol 714 is one of the brand's most famous models.

What
is special?

High quality

Impeccable quality is, first of all, the comfort and safety of the wearer, Persol designers believe.

Vintage

The highlight of this model is the three supplementary hinges, in addition to the usual two. When folded, the Persol 714 takes up very little space in a jacket pocket or bag compartment.

Elegant combination

The elegant plastic frames of the timeless Aviators pair perfectly with the extravagant shades of tinted lenses – in every pair of the sunglasses.
