ic! berlin is a world-renowned German premium eyewear brand, founded by the outstanding designer Ralph Anderle, who together with his colleagues Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling very creatively solved the difficult task of designing something unusual, innovative, commercially successful, and at the same time standing out from the existed range of products in the optical market.
In 1996, the creators of the brand produced the first collection of stainless steel frames made by hand at home. And although then this idea did not seem commercially promising, in the very near future, in 1998, the collection made a splash in the optical world, receiving the SILMO d’Or Grand Prix in the nomination “Technological innovations in spectacle optics”.

The company specializes in the production of frames from high-quality seven-layer German spring steel, the characteristics of which are set by the brand’s designers to German steelworkers. All models are produced without screws, welding, and glue in accordance with special patented technology.
The brand also manufactures titanium alloy frames that are highly durable. Products are flexible, not subject to deformation, and even after bending they easily return to their original shape. At the same time, the frames are incredibly light and so comfortable that they are practically not felt on the face. The proprietary screwless fastening technology is patented by the company and is used only in the production of the ic! berlin frames.
In 2005, the company expanded the range with acetate eyewear, all with the same signature stainless steel screwless fastening.
Each piece of glasses is made exclusively by hand by experienced German craftsmen. All details are carefully processed, resulting in a product of high German quality. The manufacturer pays close attention to the quality control of frames. Frames are entered into a special accounting database, where they are located for the entire period of their operation and where all breakages of each frame are recorded and are considered on an individual basis.
